Studio Practice

This page is dedicated to my studio practice. The artwork I create in this space is largely intended for inner growth and reflection through the arts. Thank you for joining me on this journey!

Artist Statement

I create two dimensional work inspired by Peruvian edible plants; which I sow and tend during the farming season. My work focuses on four plants: Aji Panca, Aji Amarillo, Huacatay, and Peruvian Purple Corn. I relate to these plants; I too am adapting to the soil, air, and seasons of Kansas. Setting roots as an immigrant is very similar to setting roots as a non native plant in a new ecosystem. With each season the plant and the seeds adapt and become more acclimated to the region.

The weather is changing and plants are growing. I am creating.

Stay tuned, more coming soon…
